I had a mani, pedi and eyebrow wax done by Hanna yesterday! What a great job. Most other nail salons treat you like your a nuisance and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible. The service here was great, and efficient, but I never felt like I was a bother. I did call for an appointment, as I think most people should, and they got me in right away. The pricing was good but that was about it. I came in around 11am during the week and the place was full. I asked if there were any openings at any point in the day and she told me they could fit me in now. I sat down at a nail station and waited about 10 mins (I was on my lunch break, so didn't have endless time) until someone came over. "Fit me in" is all they did. She rushed through the manicure and shellac, to the point that it is peeling 3 days later, and had bubbles in 2 of the nails I noticed later on that day. I asked her not to cut my nails as I had been working on growing them out for a month. She ignored me and cut them right off, as short as they could go. Rushing customers through an appointment and filling the shop to the brim just to make a buck is so annoying. This isn't the first time I have visited a business like this but I will certainly be going out of my way to avoid them in the future. Its just not worth saving $10. Read Less

I am from Ontario and moved to Calgary so finding a place to do my nails was hard. I am so happy I found Gentle Nails. I was in a hurry and had a short time frame and the lady made sure to get me in and done just on time. I have recently started to visit this spa in trendy Marda Loop, and it is a wonderful nail salon & spa. It is relaxing, the staff are attentive, and they seem to think of everything! This is a nail salon that provides top notch service. We've all been to nail salons who over book and try to squeeze as many people in and make you wait. This is a hidden gem where there is always parking and you never have to wait when you make an apt. They are always on time and their prices are also very reasonable and better than the surrrounding places. On top of that, they have daily specials that you should check out. All the ladies are very sweet especially Vivian, she always gives you extra service that makes you feel like you are VIP. If you are in a rush, Helen can do quality nails in lightening speed. But I may have a little answer here for you: 1 / At Gentle Nail, our brochures and signs are very detail about each service. 2/ Our nail tech is always let's clients know the price if is asked or advice any extra service.   So your partner had been charged extra for what he asked for. Definitely a very friendly staff, and the prices are reasonable. But my nails turned out terribly. I will be going somewhere else to get them fixed for sure. I got a shellac manicure and she put the top coat on the tips, so I have a weird bump along the top. The color is splotchy and there are fluffs stuck in the nail all over the place. She didn't shape them very well either. After a $10 off coupon from Safeway it ended up only being $21, so I'm not super bummed about it, but I definitely wont be going back for a manicure. Made a last-minute appointment this afternoon for a pedicure - really pleased! Hanna did my nails and did a great job: did everything I asked (cut my nails short, didn't cut down the side of the nail like some). She did a fabulous job on my cuticles and a really nice job applying polish. All topped off with a fantastic foot massage. I'll be returning for my next pedicure! Read Less
