This little nail and massage place in Subi has its pros and cons. I didn't use the nail services, so can't speak about those. Some of the rooms in the place (like the bathroom) seem a bit rundown, but the massage area upstairs has a very nice, relaxing vibe. Not sure if there is A/C though - it was pretty warm when I went up, but might have been on purpose given the massage. I had my first hot stone massage here, which was really nice, though a mixture of the stones and a sort of fast, hard style that is what I would imagine Shiatsu might be like? Not like other massages I've had. Although I really enjoyed the massage, I was a bit concerned that there was no initial form or discussion or any kind of consultation as to whether I had any injuries or other medical issues that needed to be taken into consideration, or just preferences. No request for feedback, tell them if it was too hot, etc. In my case it was ok, but if you do have any concerns/issues, you'll need to be very proactive in letting them know! At the end of the massage, she said "You're done.", then just left the room...it was unclear if I could relax a few minutes, if they were bringing tea (mentioned on my package), etc. I waited awkwardly for a minute, then decided to just get up. So I think a bit more communication would be beneficial! There were also two massage tables in the one room (which I think is the only massage room). They do couples' massages here, which is cool, but it would be awkward if they booked two strangers at once? I don't know if that happens.I also unintentionally had a little ionic foot soak thing, which I never would have knowingly signed up for (turns out it was a package deal). It's not something I buy into, but you sit with your feet in some water and a little thing hooked onto your arm and they put something in the water and it magically changes color over 30 minutes as it sucks out your toxins, and the color tells you what kind of toxins you have most...uh huh. Waste of 30 minutes so far as I was concerned, but I see lots of ads for them so obviously they're popular with some people! I did find the chair you sit in there a bit uncomfortable...it had a really big, short back pillow...with it my head had no support/couldn't recline, but without it my lower back had no support at all or I couldn't have reached the bucket. A bit awkward. They supposedly have free wifi (which I didn't try/check) and free tea (which I wasn't offered). Overall, the staff were friendly enough, but it seems similar to a couple of other Asian-run spa-type places I've been where the emphasis is more on the actual service than the ambiance or super-pampering, overly attendant staff you tend to find at more Western style places. I definitely recommend the masseuse (and the ambiance upstairs is quite nice), but not necessarily the kind of spa I would take my mom or recommend as a Valentine's Day gift or something. Read Less
