Tired to write on yelp but constantly was told it was too long. Pedicure by Lily and manicure by Angie. I will be sure to request both again even though I'm sure all are great. Ciao Bella in Livingston have always been good (4 stars) but the Vale store was pretty bad (2 stars). Bad service (ie unfriendly and unprofessional), plus my big toe had the nail cut massively at the side so now it grows funny. I will return to Livingston store but not again to Vale even though it's closer to me. To be fair I haven't been there for 2-3 months so maybe they've improved since then. Read Less

I have to be honest. The service was great until I paid. I asked for "the basic" 40$ mani and pedi treatment. When I went to pay they said males have to pay $50! Wtf? Isn't this sexual discrimination? Why would a mans mani pedi be any different than a woman's? I didn't even have my nails polished! This is a review for their branch at th Vale on the afternoon of the 7th of January 2017. The customer service was nothing to be desired. Even we had made an appointment for the 3 of us weeks in advance, we had to wait. The usual staff were not around but that does not excuse substandard service. Honestly, I have no qualms with waiting had the customer service been warmer. A couple of other customers who came in after us received better welcome. During the pedicure, my skin was cut; it hurt and bled. Again, I would have tolerated that too if the therapist had simply apologised. Instead she attributed the blood to a 3-month old bruise on the next toe. When it was apparent it wasn't that, she said l hurt myself earlier (before the treatment) and it just started bleeding. Mind you, this was 15min after the treatment started! The negative experience continued... Usually the staff help you out of the chair to move to manicure table or wash your hand. Not this time! With my hands just after a SNS soak off, handbag and freshly painted feet with toe separators (no footwear), I was told to wash my hands. I had to move back the armrest, grab my back and step onto the floor with my personal care box and bin there - leaving hardly any space for me step down easily. Again, there was no help. I managed, but my unhappy reaction must have been obvious. There was some attempt at small talk during the manicure to I suppose make things better. Even then, my feedback at the work done on one nail was not entertained. I was told that is how it should be though my right and left thumb French tips do not look similar. The end product of my SNS also shows a brumby, uneven finished. This is not the usual end result I have grown to expect. Also, what happened to good ole customer service where if there is a reasonable piece of feedback given and attempts are made to rectify it and not simply come up with excuses! I have photos to proof all this. My mum, who also had SNS done, had a rushed job done. Another customer who started about the same time as her was still having her nails done while hers was done. Not much effort or attention was given. At the end, they even forgot to check on whether our toe nails had dried or about removing our toe nail separators. They did mine, then had to be reminded about my mum and there was a reminder before they would check my daughter's. All in all, the worst experience at any nail salo by far. Disappointing for anyone, let alone for someone who has been a loyal customer returning to this place for more than 3 years from even before Ciao Bella took over from Perfection nails. Safe to say I'll be looking for a new place, one where every customer is treated equally by all staff. Read Less

My last gel set lasted 2 weeks which is great. I had an issue with the gel set and they comped this new set very professional and welcoming. I definitely recommend this shop but you have to make an appointment. Read Less

I've been here 3 times on my first visit I did the largest package mani and pedi and the gel on my nails did not last at all (I was disappointed). On my 2nd visit the guy who did my eyebrows were amazing. However on my 3 visit I felt the lady at the front counter was rude as she told me in her empty shop no one was available for my services. We (my 3 year old daughter) and I LOVE Varnish!! Connie is my absolute favorite and Sunny is my favorite for my daughter!! Keisha is also really awesome (she just doesn't do super intricate nail design and Connie does) and who I always book for anyone else coming with me:) Yes the prices are higher than most of the little dive shops, but the service is impeccable and worth every penny in my opinion! My daughter and I went to varnish lab today for mani/pedis and IT WAS AMAZING! They were so good with her and made her feel like Fancy Nancy! She had Sunny and Jennifer and they are truly the best. I had Caroline and a guy and it's honestly the best mani/pedi I've had in awhile. They spent so much time on both of us and I had a refreshing glass of wine. I highly recommend visiting them! Varnish is severely understaffed. I've booked appointments twice out of convenience, but on both occasions, I've waited over 25 minutes for service! The space is clean and the actual service (once I finally received it) was pleasant, but do NOT recommend this business, given the horrendous wait and management's disregard for customer's time.
