Some of the technicians do nice nails, and others need to go and do a training course in technique and hygiene. I have had some really beautiful mani-pedi’s and also some painful experiences. My last two times visiting the salon - I was stabbed in the toe with the clippers and the tech kept working - blood squirting out and no care for me (which I found really odd), and the last time the tech was talking to her friend and took way too much skin off my toes. Had a Pedicure here today, it was expensive could have done better myself. I asked her to blare my feet she said they don’t do it. I have recently had one in the last 6 weeks and they did it then. When I questioned woman About the skin on my feet her response was well I buffed them. Untrained staff. My advise is stay away. My Feet don’t feel any better after receiving their pedicure. Have been coming here for years, but over the last few months, very disappointed in service. Today I came in wanting my usual I told the girl pedicure & manicure with shellac. When she was doing my feet I asked her to like usual & this person was new. That I wanted my feet with the knife shave , she proceeded to tell me they don't do this any more & they do an other procedure where they wrap your feet in something & leave on for 5 mins but this would be extra $10 I told her since when as only came two weeks ago & wasn't Informed, she said only last week which we offered it for free. The mani-pedi scene in Port Melbourne is big business. I know there's a lot of polished ladies in this area but seriously, the competition is fierce when you have no less than 7 nail salons within 1-2km radius! It's hard to pick one when they all appear to be exactly the same. Prices are cheap, but that's not always the greatest selling point in an industry where hygiene is a concern. I have been to Fresh Nails a few times and haven't had any issues to date - the salon is clean, the ladies are all friendly, careful and efficient. I've only ever had one minor cuticle nick and they were extremely apologetic and fussed over me a lot to make sure there was no real damage or bleeding. The one thing this place does have over neighbouring ones (this is the only reason I pick this one over others I've tried) is that they give a good massage. Every mani or pedi I've had has included a short but decent foot or hand massage that is a little better than just slapping on some hand cream. Prices are cheap, $30 for a spa pedi and for memory, about the same for a shellac mani with $5 removal of old colour. Read Less

Who would have though that you could get a mani/pedi in Port Melbourne for $40!!!!!  And a good mani/pedi too!  First visit to this salon and I will be returning every two weeks for that price.  Very clean, friendly and did an amazing job.  No dry bleeding cuticles that you get at some of the cheaper not so nice places.  Highly recommend this salon to everyone.  They are open late mid week which is perfect to stop by after work. What I love about Fresh Nails is that they really take a mani & pedi to the next level.  I've been going there for a couple of years now and since their competition opened two doors down (Good nails) they have had 50% off every service in the name of their "3rd Birthday" sale which has carried over for close to 12 months now.
