Despite the poor reviews I have read I like this place and the service offered I have only done manicure there I do find the nail artists quite attentive in what they do They would make sure my nails are in the uv box 3 times so they would last longer I do find my shellac lasting at least 3 weeks No comment on their pedicure seats Haven’t tried ! Too fast, too furious I did not come here by choice, but was unable to get to my usual lovely salon in Fitzroy North. I'd walked past at lunchtime but the chemical smell emitting from the salon and into the arcade was so strong that I decided to come back when it wasn't so busy. I returned at 5.30pm and was grudgingly sat down by one of the girls, who despite my protests began filing down my old shellac with the electric filer. I have very thin nails and the electric filer is something I avoid at all costs. After carelessly buzzing away at my nails she then drenched cotton in so much acetone that it was running down my hands and wrists after the tin foil was applied. It was only then that had the mish-mash basket of colour samples slammed down in front of me to rummage through....with my knuckles? Very tricky when you're all wrapped up in tin foil. The girl returned to scrape off the melted shellac with the same vigour as someone whose life depended on it - but with zero regard to the state of my hands. It actually hurt and made me feel a bit sick in the stomach. Another layer of nail was removed in the rough buffing process (and part of the surrounding skin) and at that point I had no option but to have them cut short because they were starting to feel as soft as tissue paper. The only good part of the service was the actual shellac polish - can't fault the job she did here other than the moment the clock struck 5.58pm she dropped her tools without a word and left me sitting there waiting for another girl to come and do the clear top coat. Obviously she was incapable of working those last two minutes to finish the job. Looks pretty but my nails are now so thin that one bent in half just trying to turn my iPhone to silent this morning. i was on holiday & passed this salon & thought i would try it & have a relaxing pedicure with shellac, i was not happy at all, i felt VERY rushed & she hardly did anything, when the lady was painting the shellac she banged my toes on the shellac machine & when they were smudged she blamed me, everything they used had been used on many clients before me which is VERY unhygienic, all the files they used were put back in the draw & the cuticle nippers where not sterilised. I was in & out before i knew it & they charged me $50 . I would never ever return. I am scared I'm going to have an infection now. It does not cost a lot of money to use one file on each client & keep them safe from infection. The chair i sat on had some product on & the arms where full of dust & old dirt. You cannot comment on their site & the ones that are on there i cannot see a profile so I'm thinking this is not a true comment. Very unclean salon the day i went:( Read Less
