I recently had a pedicure at French Pink, and it was divine. I usually go to cheapy places that are rushed and not friendly, but this was such a luxury! The studio was spotless, all materials were very clean, and I felt so calm and relaxed the entire treatment. Even though they don't use shellac, the paint lasted quite a few weeks. Definitely worth paying that little bit more! Read Less

Made an appointment online for a mani & pedi. Upon arrival I was asked to pay first which can I had no problem doing.  The rejuvenate manicure lasted about 40 minutes, of that 20 minutes was spend sitting there with hand cream and a warm towel that turned cold very quickly.  The tech was sitting in the back behind the curtain on her phone. My hands were freezing I was so glad when she finally came back.  I didn't think the manicure, considering 20 minutes of it I was just sitting there was worth the $61 charged. The smooth my soles pedicure was ok, I am used to the tubs with massaging jets which these don't have, it a long cushioned bench and what seems bathroom sink bowls, your feet and calves are not deep in the water it just comes up to your ankles and water got cold very quickly. When she works on your feet you rest them on her knees, weird but I think it goes back to these being sinks and not actual pedicure tubs.  Also I was wearing a dress and they should have provided me with a towel to cover my legs and didn't. She applied a Callus softener and left me sitting there for 17 minutes.  I have a callus softener every pedicure I have ever had and never had to sit there for that long. She literally walked out of the shop, it was odd. She came back and refilled the tub with hot water while she cleaned off the remover, when I put my foot back in tub I burned the back of my leg on the metal faucet, if this would have happened in the US a lawsuit would be filed before a client left the shop!  She buffed my toes & handed me the file and orange stick and said I was all set, no attempt to help me into my flip flops, nothing.  Overall the experience at one of the Asian salons is better except they do not specialize in natural nails. The tech missed a valuable experience to sell me products, I had acrylics and shellac for the past 20 years surely they sell products she could have sold me to gets my nails back into natural condition. My entire experience cost $139 which I think was not a good value for what I received considering was in and out in 1:30 and about 40 minutes of that was spent just sitting there. While I was waiting there was a client who was 45 minutes early. The woman would not start working on her until the actual appointment time saying she had 2 appointment ahead of her, no one ever showed up and she wound up taking the woman 5 minutes before her scheduled appointment time.  Girl with the fake tan and bad highlights not very nice. Whenever they had an opportunity both would go in the back and whisper, totally unprofessional if you ask me.  There were a 1/2 dozen walk-ins but they were booked for the day which leads me to believe that they are losing business they could otherwise have if they had a 3rd tech working. French Pink's newish space at 234 Collins is really refreshing, clean and oh so relaxing. The ladies who work there are super friendly, fun yet professional and they always polish my nails to perfection. I can't tell you how many times I've received compliments on my nails, I've honestly lost count.Natural nails are what they do best. If you're after shellac or acrylics, then this nail bar isn't the place for you; unless, of course, you're looking to breathe life into your own nails. Looking to drop in at the last minute? Don't. Call ahead at least a day or two in advance to book in, especially for Saturday appointments. French Pink stocks brands like Essie, Butter London, CND Vinylux, Hello Darling and NCLA.This review is probably a bit biased as I've been frequenting French Pink for a little over three years now on an almost weekly basis. This place is pure bliss. Read Less

I have never had a professional manicure before, and after Googling around I settled on French Pink. The only problem was I couldn't get through on the phone to make an appointment. I find this can be for two reasons: either sloppiness or just being too busy and popular to answer the phone. I decided to show up in person and find out which one it was, and luckily it was the latter. Since this is one of the only manicure places open on a Monday it's understandable. I got the last free appointment for the day and I was so glad I made the trip! My nails look stunning, the shape is great and I'm amazed to distraction at how tough and chip-free the polish is. I went for the newfangled VINYLUX week-long lasting polish and I'm definitely impressed. Highly recommended, but probably don't try going on a whim like me and instead book a few days ahead.
