Unfortunately, I will no longer support this business. I am not frustrated with them, I am saddened. I have gone here multiple times with my cousin who has special needs and every time they say something in regards to "keeping her under control." I used to love going here because they do a good job and I have always been happy with their service, but they have crossed the line. This has really caused a lot of hurt in me and for them to say it right in front of my cousin who h...as understood every word that the owner has said. The last time I went in the owner was standing at the door and I said we would like a gel manicure and she blatantly said "even her?" while pointing at my cousin and saying she could only get one if she was well-behaved, didn't ask to change her nail color once they started, and that I "handled her correctly." Her mother has even gone there with her and she has said the same remarks. The owner has told us that my cousin needs to "behave" and that "she can't change her nail color if she is unhappy with it" (I know this can be frustrating, but I myself have changed my nail color when I was unhappy with it and have never received a backhand). It really disappoints me to see them act this way, mostly the owner. Most of the workers will not even speak directly to my cousin while giving her a manicure. Every time we have gone we are greeted at the door disrespectfully. The owner is almost blocking us in and it is such a shame to be "welcomed" into a business like that and for her to clearly not want us there. When I have gone there alone, I am NEVER treated that way. I am treated like any other customer. The first time I let it go, but due to it happening multiple times I cannot be silent. I am not one to write a negative review about a business, but this has truly upset me and I think their clients need to be aware of this. I have been a frequent customer for well over a year. I went in there tonight and was advised that they are booked and I should have made an appointment and I was turned away service. First off, I have never had to make an appointment before, in over a year. These ladies love taking their time so if you enjoy sitting back for an hour or two for a quick pedi then you've found your salon. The ventilation is such that you leave with a nice high feeling and you're sure to find some great issues of Ok! and Woman's Weekly from 2012! Read Less

I well never go here again. Every time I go there's a long wait but this isn't what I have an issue with. It's the fact no one says anything about how long it well take, at least to me. Today was the final straw. I had been there at least ten mins. No one was waiting. Another customer walked in after me and after a few mins, a lady who worked here told him (ignored me) that it would be over an hour wait. I sure wish they had told me!! When I'm in the High Street area and in need of a manicure of pedicure, the first place I head to is Texas Nails. Unlike some overly decorated nails spas that charge the earth, this place is not flash at all. After all you're not going there for the décor are you? In fact, the exposed brick walls and dated artwork give it an eclectic old school cool. All I know is, the girls at Texas Nails are quick, thorough and very professional. $40 gets you a spa pedicure and deluxe manicure. They also do a mean nail art session and you can get Shellac nails done for a fraction of the price at the more "decorated" nail spas down the road. So you decide, which you prefer. There's also never the need to make an appointment which makes it handy because they will always try and accommodate you, but will never rush through a job so you can expect the same good service all the time.
