Quality and service has gone way down hill since they opened the second store and all the girls at new store are inexperienced and can only perform the most basic tasks, walking you around to the old store for something as simple as changing the colour of gel nails. Disappointed. Read Less

One time the owner did my nails, she was on the phone to her bank the whole time screaming at them... The last time I went for gel polish on my nails, the lady filed them down so far that it was actually burning, not to mention she also cut me with the file 3 or 4 times, and still couldn’t get the shape how I wanted so in the end I filed them correctly myself. She then painted the gel so thick with so many layers, that within a few days a couple of nails had just peeled off. So I went back in to have it fixed and the manager refused to believe that it was done in her shop and wouldn’t fix it without me paying for a new set. So many better salons around town, I only go here for convenience but I won’t bother anymore. Read Less

Terrible service! We walked into the shop and the staff members just starred at us until I said something to them first.. we specifically booked an appointment over the phone for us to get our nails done at the same time so we didn't have to wait.. we showed up to our appointment on time, but my friend was told she had to wait. It looked like there was 3-4 people in front of her which was ridiculous. I made sure they knew what I wanted twice when I made the appointment! We ended up just walking out and going somewhere else. Had shellac nails removed here last month. Friendly staff, dirt cheap, and got the job done, but the woman doing it desperately needed more training. She spun the wheel far too fast on the tool she was using to remove the polish, resulting in chunks being taken out of my nails and burns to the nail beds on my little fingers (still visible a month later). She also insisted that I soak my fingers in the acetone instead of just the nails (uh, no!). All in all, I've come out of it with badly damaged and extremely fragile nails that are still healing over a month later. But yay for cheap right? Read Less

I have been a regular at this shop for quite some time. My last set of refill were horrendously done and painful. It also took 1 1/2 hours as they had to remove and reapply shellac (normally 40mins). Being a regular i gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned this morning. I asked for something different to usual (simple change colour) and was quoted $35, i agreed but when it came time to pay they charged me $70. I argued and all the TWO ladies could do was laugh and say thats what it is and you have to pay. Laughing at there mistake is very rude and after 12 months of coming in every 2-3 weeks i will not be returning. Read Less

I had my shellac removed and and my nails re done. The lady who did my nails was charming and did a great job. i was a visitor to Launceston. The worst thing was the manager yelling at my operator to hurry up, hurry up. So rude and she was very upset. My nails are still really good and its no thanks to this rude, rude manager. Worst nails i have ever had done each nail is a different shape and size. Definitely not worth the $70 for lumpy uneven shapped nails. Im a believer in you get what you pay for but definitely should look into where ever i go next. Sorry ladies. Read Less

I thought the service was below average. The staff should be practising on one another instead of sitting out the back of the shop doing nothing because the quality is definitely not of a high standard. One of my nails had so much top coat on it that when it dried it went bubbly and I was made feel like it was my fault because the thought I 'bumped' it. It was then fixed but turned out worse than the first time. I am originally from NSW, moved to Melbourne 4 years ago and I am in Launceston for work for a month, I have had my nails done so many times and quite frankly if I pay $55, I want to leave satisfied and I was very underwhelmed. Worst customer service ever! Went today at 12:00pm,, next appointment to 1:00 pm. I said I would like infill with normal colour. Went back at 1:00pm, the lady gave me a tray to choose the nail colour I wanted and just before she started I double checked if it was normal colour and she said it was Shellac. I said I didn't want shellac, and she insisted shellac was better and I insisted I wanted a normal colour. She said for I chose the normal nail colour in the shelf and when I picked a colour and sat back, she was doing another lady's manicure! I asked who will do my nails and she said for I sit and wait. I asked for how long and she said 20 minutes. I immediately got my bag and said I will never more go to this horrible place. I've been there before and didn't like the way this same lady treat me. My experiences in the store are not always the best. I struggle to understand sometimes and when I get acrylic nails my fingers hurt after getting them done, this latest time however didn't hurt as much. When filing my nail my nail felt like it was burning and each time I flinched I was asked if I was okay and she changed the method of what way she was doing it (Tara) I believe. Although my visits aren't great, the end product on my nails are usually really really good and my nails are smooth and not bumpy like I find elsewhere. I guess it depends on the day you go, etc. So experience I'd rate 3 stars and end product 4.5 stars. Read Less

Tara seems very organised and knows exactly what she's doing. Some of the workers there are a little hard to understand sometimes though, but seem nice :) I only got a pedicure and it was nice and relaxing. Read Less

I would have been happy with my pedicure but the employees are quite pushy/rude.  I had a mani/pedi and since it was the first time having one in Tasmania after moving from NY, I was not aware that the store didn't provide thongs.  The employee working on me asked if I wanted to purchase $2 thongs and I let her know I didn't need them and would simply let my toes dry.  While getting my manicure I then hear the (I'm assuming) manager asking if she told me about the thongs, the technician working on me merely rolled her eyes, in reply then the manager asked me if I wanted to buy the thongs as well, I let her know I did not, she told me I needed to pay before having my nails painted and I informed her that I realised that (oh yeah, they're cash only but the only sign proclaiming that is inside at the register and in small font so you don't see it' til you've sat down), she then said I could buy the thongs to go across the road and get money, I told her again that I did not want to buy a pair of thongs, she then said I could go across the road in my bare feet and get the money and I asked why there was an issue with me waiting for my toenails to dry before getting the money, she then said that I could put my shoes on after 10 minutes to go to the ATM.  I wrongly assumed she was finally going to leave me alone but about 30 seconds after saying I needed 10 minutes to let my nails dry, she comes over with a spray that's meant to speed up the process, sprays my feet and says I can go get the money.  One of my toes ended up being smudged due to this.  She also took issue with the fact that I did not want nail polish on my fingers, she thought I figured this meant the manicure would be cheaper (it's still a manicure, I'm aware I have to pay, thanks) and muttered about it to another client.  It was the most unprofessional and odd interaction I have had in a store here to date.   I was hoping to find a shop I could visit regularly but definitely won't be going back to Diamond Nails.
