I Love Love Love having my hair done by Janelle every 6 weeks. All the staff make you feel welcome and take an interest in you as a person and what style and colour you would like. My regular eyebrow lady was booked and I was desperate so I went to Orbe for threading. While the lady was lovely, she did a terrible job. There is a difference between knowing how to remove hair and knowing how to shape eyebrows. They were awful and not at all even. My left eyebrow had a chunk taken out of it. I had to shamefully return to my usual therapist to have it fixed. She had to thin them out just to get them to match. Read Less

The level of service here is really poor, as is the quality of the color/technique but used by the young colorists. Unhappy with my hair color I requested to come in for it to be redone, but couldn't get in for one week. In the meantime I went elsewhere. I kindly requested if I could come in for a cut or something else later to compensate but the salon responded with a no absolutely not. I am so disappointed by this salon. I recommend trying out Station 95 in Walkerville as an alternative. Maria there has years of experience and did an amazing job fixing my hair. Read Less

I do not recommend this salon. I have been here three times. The first time was for a cut with Dea who is amazing. I loved chatting with her and she did a great job. When I tried to rebook with her the salon told me I couldn't. I loved her and I asked for her contact info to see if she worked anywhere else and they wouldn't give it out. She only worked there on special occasions and had I known that from the start I never would have gone to her. The second and third time was for a toner and cut and it turned out to be awful experience. In total I have spent about $1000 over the three visits. After the third visit, which left my ashy blond hair gold (read - not a good look!) I called the salon to see if I could come back to fix it. They booked me an appointment one week later and in the meantime I couldn't stand my color and I went somewhere else. The other place I went, Station 95 in Walkerville is awesome (go to Maria). I asked Orbe if I could just have a credit for something else or come back later for a cut instead since someone else already redid my color - they flatly said no absolutely not. I don't think they really care about customer service or retention of customers. I would have continued to go back for brow care (which was good their) but I really don't appreciate how plane rude they were. Also, warning DO NOT buy shampoo here. I bought some that absolutely dried out my hair and made it feel terrible and they wouldn't let me exchange it for anything else. Horrible experience over all. So sad. Such a waste. Read Less

Have been going on and off to Orbe Norwood Beauty for the past couple of years to get acrylic nails. Every time I have had professionalism and friendliness. My wife booked herself an appointment today at 1:30pm, but was told her appointment was for next Monday. This was 1 week in advance and they still made a mistake. It is very unfortunate especially since she was excited and looking forward to this because it took her 2 years to grow it, and was going to have a trim for the 1st time in a long time. It was very disappointing for her and they did not even try to accommodate her. We leave for Europe next week and she was hoping to have her hair done before that. After hearing so many good things about this salon, I was really disappointed. I needed to get my roots re done and tone some blonde in my hair. I'm usually not fussy at all because I used to do hairdressing and I know how hard it is having difficult customers. But I will not be returning after this visit. My hair looks fine, but the price and service was pretty disgusting. When the head colourist came over to talk to me, she really knew what she was talking about which is good, but she was talking to me as though I'm the stupidest person in the world. She needs to be a little friendlier. The whole time I felt really awkward and uncomfortable. None really wanted to have a conversation. There was one girl with long black hair and green in her hair, she was really nice, only good thing about the salon! Four people in total took turns with my hair, no conversation with any of them. Not to mention there was this apprentice walking around with the most awful look on her face, looked as though she really hated working there. When she caped me up I got no greeting just an awkward 'I'm gonna like ... cape you up now' My hair looked no different in the end and I paid 210 dollars for it. They knew I was unhappy and did nothing about it, just kept pulling the whole 'next time you come in' card. I know these tricks! I did hairdressing! There will be no next time. Read Less

This is one of Adelaide's best hair salons. They use top quality products (this is really important if you are looking at straightening treatments and coloring) and they make sure all staff are trained to a high standard. There is also the convenience of an in house beauty and make up bar, and some interesting and funky jewelry. All the staff are talented, professional and friendly - but I highly recommend (do on a regular basis to friends and colleagues) Janelle for hair styling and colour and Deanne for make up. I booked in a blow dry here because I couldn't get an appointment at my usual salon.It's a nice place and was quite busy on a Saturday when I visited.My stylist provided the quote for my blow dry before she started which was good. At $70 for a wash and blow dry I thought the value was ok for a salon on The Parade.The staff were friendly. But maybe because it was my first visit, I didn't really feel totally comfortable in the salon.The coffee machine wasn't working which was a bit surprising for a busy and modern salon.The final was product was good and what I asked for. But there are probably a few other nicer salons to try in Adelaide. Read Less

Now, these guys are really expensive, I'm not sure how they go with cutting ladies hair, but I took my then partner in here one time to get a sorely needed hair cut and he looked pretty alright after wards. and the hairdresser didn't flirt with him to a ridiculous extent in front of me (yes this has happened in the past).The reason why I think you should take your man here for a cut is because A. he has to pay for it and B. you get this neat little goody bag afterward containing hair products and an item of their jewelery line if you're a new client! So all I wanted was a trim, but they didn't really get that right. I had shoulder-length hair, not too many layers, a long side fringe, just a natural flowy look. They had to go and make the layers too short, the fringe too short (for my liking anyway), resulting in my hair looking limp and thin. Even after they blow-dried the hell out of it.I was suprised and disappointed, considering they are a big, busy salon with many locals. Maybe it was just my bad luck, and I happened to get a newbie or something. I don't know. They were really expensive too. I usually go to Gritti Palace which people say is expensive, but they do a really good job so you get your money's worth. Orbe is a large, super big, super buzzing hair salon on the Parade.I tried them out before I found my true hair soul mate - and while I got an a-ok trim I haven't been back since.The salon itself is quite large but not intimidatingly so, with a modern fixtures, lots of fresh flowers and lots of people (both customers and stylists). This is one busy place! I had the usual small talk with the stylist as she trimmed my hair - and while she did an OK job, there wasn't a huge difference as I left the salon. I do have reallllly long hair which hairdressers can often be afraid to cut, so I wasn't super surprised. It wasn't cheap - paid around $80 for a wash, trim, blowdry, and my hair looked good when I left but as mentioned it wasn't a huge difference from when I walked in. I also asked about colouring when I was in there, but was put off by a quote of $200+ so never followed it up. Orbe do the whole shebang when it comes to beauty and hair, with a spa area offering facials and other beauty treatments too. Read Less
