I'm not even sure where to begin. The lady doing my 4 year olds nails got frustrated entirely too quickly over my daughter's apprehension with it all -- It was her fire manicure, and included jamberry's, which requires different tools to get them on. The worker took no time to explain what she was doing, and quickly got a tone of voice with my daughter when she was trying to pull her hand away. Instead of letting my daughter pull her hand back, she held on to it against her w...ill and continued the tone of voice, which is when I stepped in and told her it was inappropriate and she needed to lower it. Next, the lady who was applying tinsel to my daughter's hair went outside for a moment, and came back in smelling of cigarette smoke. She completely neglected to wash her hands and even if she did, her sweatshirt was saturated in the smell. When she was putting the tinsel in my hair, standing directly behind me, I was exposed to the smell as my child (and others) would be -- it was bad. Really, really bad and REALLY not ideal for a children's salon. Or any salon for that matter, but especially one for kids. When I called to make my appointment, I made it super clear this was our first time and wanted a special experience with myself, my daughter and my mother. We were all very much looking forward to it. During the appointment, a regular client who also had an appointment, showed up. Apparently this sweet boy has had to come in once weekly for weeks in a row just to finish a haircut -- he thrashes, screams, flails, and hollers. He came in and sure enough, flipped out for a good 30 minutes. My daughter was sitting less than a foot from him, and was getting noticeably distressed. As we were leaving, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the completely over the top screaming boy scenario, and was accused of discrimination. Lovely. I am absolutely aware it's a children's saloon and am very aware of how children are, and was by no means implying he shouldn't be allowed there -- I was simply displeased with the lack of disclosure. If a customer called in and expressed the experience they were hoping to have, and you as an employee *knew* that a more challenging client would be there at the same time, would you not recommend a different time for the appointment? I really did not appreciate being accused of discrimination upon voicing my frustrations. The employee did not ONCE apologize for the chaos and kept going back and forth with me about it. Needless to say I will never go back, nor recommend the place. And I'm not one to usually go out of my way to make a review, but this was just so bad I couldn't leave it be. I paid $50 for nails that were messed up, but I refused to get fixed because we all just wanted to leave. A hair cut from someone who didn't even ask me afterwards if how she did it was okay, and everything else I mentioned above. See More Read Less
