I had a shellac manicure and pedicure and paid $75. I wish I had read some of the reviews before entering. Worst nails! I too was moved from person to person, I felt the job was rushed, there was a lack of communication throughout. The first employee was put out when I asked her to use the blade on my heels. The next employee was annoyed when I asked to change the color I picked out before she had even started applying it. She must have been in training because she hacked at my cuticles until they bled. When applying the cheap gel polish they use it was running in to the edges and has already started lifting. When leaving I noticed she had even failed to even cover the nail properly with a top coat. An employee with more experience attempted to fix my hands but the damage had been done. The gel was now thick and a different color from my toes. They offered for me to come back at first but when I said the first I could return would be in 5 days they insisted on doing it before I left and then charged me full price. LOVE Groove Jet!! And all the Jets!! I have been going to this amazing, stylish and friendly salon for almost 3 years now. They welcomed me on my very first day at salon, which literally was a walk in manicure appointment, with open arms, smiles and lots of laughter. After that incredible family oriented experience I was hooked! Moving from Ohio to Wilmington was an adjustment and every girl knows when you change hairstylists it can be incredibly difficult because you built ...trust in your stylist. I can whole heartedly say you can trust everyone at Groove Jet. I typically have hair, manicure, eyebrow services completed but occasionally have facials, pedicures and massages. I have taken my mom and sister/best friend to Groove for fun pampering days. Which they thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to go back! This salon was an absolute nightmare for my wedding hair/makeup. My intention in writing this review is not to be malicious to this business, but to make sure that no one has their wedding morning ruined by such an awful experience like we did. The prices are outrageous, and my maid of honor (who is a hairdresser at another salon) had to recurl every person's hair because they couldn't even curl properly. Some staff members were rude and one even exclaimed "can we get our mon...ey for this already?!" because one of the other stylists had to fix her updo. The girl who did my mom's hair burned her face, and when my mom told the manager she said absolutely nothing. The manager was unhelpful, and didn't seem to care that we had such a nightmarish experience. We worked with Stephanie last minute and she was able to fit in me and my bridal party (6!) without any problem. Heidi, who is also awesome, handled my trial run and it turned out amazing. On the day-of they had an area for my party, complete with personalized touches which really made us feel special. The atmosphere was very relaxed.
