My partner booked 3 x $150 gift vouchers for myself, and organised my daughters partners to do the same- such a delightful thought. He said it took him 5 visits and phone calls to get this into place and ready for us. I called to book and was directed to do a group booking for the 3 of us on the website but the options in this menu were quite limited. After 6 calls and emails we eventually setttled for the Brooklyn special facial $99 for an hour. Holly and Steph were extreme...ly helpful and lovely to deal with but the booking process was extremely clunky and if i didnt have vouchers i would have given up and gone to my usual Beauty plaace. Roger spent $450 but i had to keep producing all 6 voucher numbers because the original voucher dollar amount was processed incorrectly hence we had 2 vouchers each. Anyway all was booked and we visited yesterday. We arrived 10 minutes early and were offered water-- sparkling or flat. Our booking time came and went so i asked for a glass of sparkling Rose each, I didnt mind paying but later found out they were complimentary so why werent we offered this on arrival? We then were shown to our room at 2.30 and had a nice enough facial but nothing overly special. I was surprised that we were left to just lie quietly for 10 minutes with eye pad treatment, my beaty therapist utilised every spare moment with massage. We were finished and dressed and out of the bar by 2.20. We did not get the 1 hour facial we paid for. Loyal customer for 3 years. Was one of their top 10 spender in 2016. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! Due to severe health problems in 2017 and gaving to change/cancel appointments, I was told NOT to come back. Brooke could not even be bothered to call me despite my asking and pleading. I had medical certificates and all. I was in hospital! Completely disgusted. I have had a terrible experience with Brooklyn Beauty Bar. I came in for 'Brookies Brows" at the Barracks salon, by a head technician which cost $60. That apparently included a brow sculpt, consult and tint. I was put into a room with multiple people which made me feel like a number and very uncomfortable. The head technician advised me that she was not going to remove my make up and that she would use that as a guide to wax around which i could have done myself. I was asked ...if i wanted waxing or threading which I have never been asked before and I thought if necessary, would both be included in a 'sculpt'. The tint on my brows was applied so messily and stained all the skin around my brows. When she was finished, she asked me to check them, I told her what I wanted fixed and when she asked me to check a second time they looked exactly the same. By the time I paid and left, I had been in the salon for a total of 15 mins. I felt so rushed and and walked out so unhappy with my brows. I could have had the same if not better job done at a local hairdressers. I ended up going somewhere else to have them fixed and paid more money. I responded to requested feedback, they attempted to call me once. I called them back and was told the manager was not available and that she would call me back. I am still awaiting a return phone call. I will never return and will not recommend Brooklyn Beauty Bar to anyone. See More Read Less

I'm not sure what I think yet but at least 4 stars for the lovely environment and welcoming atmosphere. They serve you a bottle of water when you arrive and you fill in a form. Lots of clients all having different things done. I like that my consultant assured me and was confident in what she was doing - my first time threading. However lots of powder left on my eyebrows scared me a little when I saw myself in the mirror later when out shopping. Much better experience than any other place I have been so far. Read Less

I've been going to Brooklyn Beauty bar on James street for about 10 months now to have my brows done and have never been disappointed! I went to the Brooklyn Beauty Bar yesterday with my 2 best friends from high school as a surprise 40th birthday presant. The place itself is fantastic and and I can't understand how a business based on pampering and drinking cocktails has not been thought of in this way before, but the thing that really made this a 20 out of 10 experience (aside from my beautiful friends company) was the professional yet relaxed staff. They were so attentive, knowledgeable and fun and from ...the moment we were greeted we could feel the exact type of vibe a place like that should have. It was so refreshing to get such fantastic service that lacked the kind of pretentiousness or 'fake friendly' you do sometimes get in bars or beauty salons of this callabre. The girls were all down to earth and it almost felt like I was there with 5 of my friends instead of the actual 2 I came in with. Besides all that they did a really great pedicure.
