Walked into Sleek Nails for a manicure and pedicure. I sat waiting for 10 minutes to get a pedicure first, that's cool, no stress. I didn't make an appoinment anyway. Got the pedicure, happy with end result. Communication error between staff and then between me and the technician. I sat in the pedicure chair for a hour before I was told I was good to go and I can put my shoes back on. I said I wanted a manicure as well and 2 techicians apologise kindly and I got my manicure with some great advice for having weak nails and got a nice clear finish. Called ahead to ask about getting a mani/pedi. Got told to come in and that it wasn't busy. Arrived and everyone is flat chat. Ask what the wait is and they say pick your colors and we will seat you. Waited 10 minutes and was then got told there would be another 15 minute wait even though people after me came in and were seated straight away. Didn't bother sticking around. I've had quite a few mani/pedi's here and a couple of good ones, otherwise I would never have come back. Natch.HOWEVER, the nail artists are ROUGH here. They pinch your fingers and toes hard enough that you grimace and have to tell them to lay off, rush through filing, and rush through cuticle cutting and end up making you bleed. Yup, no thanks. I know how that sounds, but they are convenient for me on a Saturday when I'm done with the gym, and I have had some good service here in the past. The last straw for me was coming in here with perfect nails, perfectly shaped, ultra square how I like them and I wanted a shellac polish change.  I should have paid attention, I know, but I thought "mate, how hard is it to follow the shape and I told her SQUARE"... anyway, I was down the street by the time I realized that she'd rounded my nails out. WTF???I hate the round look. Why you do dis??? Whhhhy? *cries*So I guess you can pinch my toes and feet til I wince and slice my skin, but you round out my nails and make them look how I don't want them to look, and you've crossed the damn line. Wish i had read these reviews before coming here. Worst pedícure and manicure I have ever had. Not only worst but quickest too. Ridiculously pathetic pedi with no interest and crap terrible cheap (probably toxic) products. Then the manicure????? I asked for her not to cut my nails too short, she cut them ALL off. I mean ALL save maybe 1mm. Then when I said "ah! They are so short!" She said only that long nails are not good... Hmmm.... ... She didn't even clean under my nails which having just left, I am now doing. Anyway the complete lack of customer service and poor attitude (especially since I was the only person there), means I will never go back. I will also tell all my local friends not to go here. Not the worst but not the best place to get your claws painted in the Inner West. The trouble with Sleek Nails is that the service varies hugely between staff members. I visted with my best friend and we each got started at the same time. Her nail artist was slow and careful, paid attention to detail and put a bit of effort into the hand and arm massage. My nail artist however, couldn't get me out of there fast enough. It's not as though my nails were poorly done or messy but a manicure is about the whole experience and my experience for was rushed. My best manicures have been from here. They both lasted over two weeks, which is beyond the promised minimum expiry of a shellac manicure. Wish I had gone here for my most recent one, too. The thing I like best is their customer service - not afraid to take their time, allowed me to properly cure the shellac polish, and give a nice hand massage at the end. They stock a full and ever expanding range of CND and OPI shellac colours, as well as a rainbow of regular nail polishes from OPI. Their cuticle gel and finishing oil also smell nice. The tv is always on which annoyed me at first but eventually became incorporated into the relaxing experience. It's off the main street tucked into a mall of sorts, so it's quieter than a store with direct street frontage. Pricing is standard for all treatments. Sneaky, rip off, rude.AVOID!I asked about the price when I walked in. The staff did not make it clear and charged more than she initially stated. All the staffs were rude. It wasn't about the money anymore. It was their attitude that made the situation worse. I wouldn't have said anything for this misunderstanding if they were being nice. Tom needs to learn that he can't treat his paying customers like shit! I have been going every 3 weeks for an infill for a little while now - purely because he is the only half decent nail artist in the area.  Today was my last visit. There is zero communication from these guys; in fact they don't even greet you hello.  When i asked a simple question about my nails today i got a rude accusation that made me feel like a child.
